Ethniki Ellados (Greek Football Federation) has released the Greece 2024 home and away kits.
The new National Team kit, featuring the iconic Victory of Samothrace, a renowned sculpture from the Hellenistic era, was unveiled in a spectacular event held in Munich by the company 11teamsports.
The image of the “winged goddess,” depicted on the right side of the kit, will accompany the national footballers in their endeavours, symbolizing the aspiration to inspire and empower them to achieve significant victories.
The Victory of Samothrace has been housed in the Louvre Museum since 1884. It is one of three winged Nikes discovered in the Temple of Samothrace. The Victory of Samothrace served as the primary inspiration for the NIKE logo, known as the Swoosh (which represents the sound of wind or water in motion).
On the left side of the white kit, two stripes in the colors of the national emblem are present in perfect symmetry, appearing as an imaginary extension of the emblem itself. In the lower left corner, marking the 20th anniversary of the triumph in EURO 2004, an image of the trophy presentation to the National Team is displayed. Notably, the Swoosh and the anniversary “patch” on the new National Team kits have been designed in silver, matching the color of the Victory of Samothrace and providing a cohesive visual aesthetic.
