Job Match APPLICATION

Jobseekers in Greece can now freely download the JOBmatch app and connect with employers in the tourism, hospitality, and F&B sectors, offering various vacant positions.

Launched this week by Greece’s Public Employment Service (DYPA), the new app, available for both iOS and Android devices, aims to assist tourism businesses in filling approximately 50,000 vacant positions as the peak tourism season approaches.

To get started, users – both employers and jobseekers – need to create a profile on the app and specify their preferences or needs, such as location, pay, position, salary, required skills, and qualifications. Currently, the app offers categories for positions at ski resorts and ski rentals, sales, parking, beaches, sea sports, car/moto rentals, and cruise ships.

JOBmatch evaluates the provided data and generates the most relevant results. Users can then arrange job interviews either in person or via video call.

Labor Minister Domna Michailidou has commended the application as an innovative solution to support the vital sectors of tourism and Food & Beverage, which are currently grappling with labour shortages and unemployment.

However, in response to this development, the Panhellenic Federation of Catering and Tourist Industry Employees (POET) is urging the Labor Ministry to withdraw the application, claiming that it allows employers and interested parties to negotiate salaries outside of collective labour agreements.

JOBmatch, currently available only in Greek, can be accessed here.
