"Eurostat's announcement regarding inflation in May 2024, showing Greece with the sixth lowest inflation among euro area countries, is a positive development," Skrekas stated. "The government measures and our efforts are yielding results. We are not complacent. The battle to contain high prices continues."

Eurostat's flash estimate also indicated that the Euro area annual inflation rate is expected to be 2.6% in May 2024, up slightly from 2.4% in April.
