Hotel Grande Bretagne: Summer movie nights overlooking the hotel pool and a perfect view of Lycabettus

Hotel Grande Bretagne athens summer cinemas movies

Dedicated to famous actors who have stayed at the Hotel Grande Bretagne in the last 150 years of its operation, the summer movie nights will start on June 6 and will take place every week, from Thursday to Saturday, on the 7th floor of the iconic hotel, with the swimming pool and unique view of Lycabettus.

Cinephiles will have the opportunity to enjoy their favourite classic films and recent Hollywood hits under the stars, with Daniel Day-Lewis, Hugh Jackman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Emma Stone, and others all set to feature on the screen.

The curtain for this year opens on June 6 with the legendary 1957 film "Boy on a Dolphin", directed by Jean Negulesco and Sophia Loren, wondering ", What is this that they call love?"

The films "Poor Things" by Yorgos Lanthimos, "Did You Hear About the Morgans" by Marc Lawrence, "Inside Man" by Spike Lee, "The Prestige" by Christopher Nolan, and "Phantom Thread" by Paul Thomas Anderson will also feature.

The cinematic pleasure is complemented by a high-level culinary experience, with the signature of the Hotel's experienced chefs. The menu is the perfect accompaniment to watch the films—a relaxing drink by the pool and a finger food set menu.

The set menu includes dishes reminiscent of classic cinema: freshly baked popcorn with sea salt, organic nachos with handmade crispy yellow corn tortilla chips, mouth-watering tacos with lettuce leaves or tempura shrimp, mini cheeseburgers with juicy 'Black Angus' beef patty, and refreshing ice cream.
