Iconic actor Sophia Loren is celebrating becoming the godmother for the MSC Cruises fleet — the culmination of a relationship that spans nearly 20 years.
And to mark the occasion, and the naming ceremony for MSC Seascape in New York, she has come up with a list of her favourite chic destinations which includes the magnificent Greek Island of Hydra.
“What makes these destinations so special are the unique experiences I have had in each one, from naming a glamorous cruise ship to creating special memories with my family Loren writes.
She adds: “ For me, travelling is all about experiencing new people and places and, in turn, discovering yourself all over again. Each of these destinations provide a chic atmosphere to unwind, relax and truly immerse yourself in a new place and its unique culture.”
The Greek Islands Beaches, tiny bays and hidden coves, and limestone landscapes are the backdrop for Greek myths, legends and stories. And one of my favourite islands (still) is Hydra, which Sophia Loren brought fame in the 1950s. She fell in love with the beauty of Greece while on a film set — and who wouldn’t.
