The Los Angeles Greek Film Festival 2024 commenced with a vibrant red carpet opening night at the Harmony Gold Theatre on Saturday, June 1. The highlight of the evening was the screening of "ANIMAL," Sofia Exarchou's acclaimed film that won the Golden Alexander at the 2023 Thessaloniki International Film Festival. Following the screening, festival-goers engaged in a Q&A session with Exarchou and the film’s star, Flomaria Papadaki.

The opening night reception, hosted by European Languages & Movies in America (ELMA), was a testament to Greek hospitality. It featured culinary delights from NICK THE GREEK, exquisite wines by AVRA, and craft cocktails by DULCE VIDA TEQUILA and EMPRESS GIN. SMARTWATER and OPTIMA FOODS provided refreshing beverages to complement the festivities.
