Central Greece Records Highest Temperature of 43.2°C Amid Heatwave

Greece experienced soaring temperatures on Wednesday, with the highest recorded at 43.2°C in Lefkochori, Fthiotida, Central Greece, according to the National Observatory of Athens’ automated meteorological network.

Sparta closely followed with 43.1°C.

The nationwide average high temperature was 36.1°C. Out of 509 active weather stations, 228 reported temperatures exceeding 37°C, and 51 stations saw temperatures rise above 40°C. The heatwave is expected to continue until Friday.
