Santorini Film Festival

Calling all cinephiles! The Santorini Film Festival (SFF) will return from July 18th to 20th, 2024, bringing a vibrant celebration of independent cinema to the heart of the Cyclades. This year's festival promises a diverse program of screenings, workshops, and discussions under the theme "Dyadic All."

Exploring Duality Through Film:

"Dyadic All" delves into the multifaceted nature of existence, encouraging audiences to explore the inherent contradictions found everywhere in life. Through four distinct programs, the festival will showcase films that explore the duality of relationships, communities, locations, and cultures, extending even to the cosmic phenomena that shape our world.

Open-Air Screenings and Workshops:

Cine Kamari, the festival's iconic open-air venue since 2018, will once again host a rich selection of short and feature films by Greek and international filmmakers on July 19th and 20th. This unique setting promises a memorable cinematic experience under the stars.

For budding filmmakers, SFF has partnered with the Tomato Industrial Museum to offer a two-day "Optical Toys" workshop led by stop-motion animation expert Ioanna Giakoumatou. This workshop, held at Vlychada Beach's old factory, aims to introduce children aged 8-10 to the history of cinema and the magic of moving images. Participants will explore pre-cinema technology and create their own toys, learning the fundamental principles of stop-motion animation.

A Festival for All:

With an expanded program and exciting activities, the 2024 Santorini Film Festival celebrates cinema as a powerful tool for education, entertainment, and showcasing the voices of independent filmmakers.
