Greek firefighting forces successfully tackled 32 wildfires across the country, with 11 requiring aerial support to prevent their spread towards residential areas and forests, according to Civil Protection sources.
While the majority of fires have been contained, active blazes persist in the northern regions of Kilkis and Soufli. Scattered outbreaks are also being managed by firefighting units in Ano Akria and Iraklio on the island of Crete.
Investigations into the causes of these fires are underway, with local authorities and the Arson Crimes Division actively examining the affected areas.
The firefighting service emphasizes the importance of extreme caution and urges all citizens to strictly adhere to official instructions regarding fire safety.
