Olympic bronze medallist Theodoros Tselidis returned to Greece on Friday from Paris, where he secured Greece’s first medal at the 2024 Olympic Games.
The judo champion, along with his coach Nikos Iliadis, received a warm welcome at the airport from Deputy Minister of Sports Ioannis Vroustis, General Secretary of Sports Giorgos Mavrotas, federation representatives, and enthusiastic fans.
“Our Olympic bronze medallist Theodoros Tselidis returned to his homeland with the Olympic medal around his neck, and we were there to welcome him and express our heartfelt ‘thank you’ on behalf of all Greeks for his fighting spirit and, most importantly, the sportsmanship he displayed during the Olympic tournament!” said Vroustis. “Theodoros, you made us proud, and we will stand by you and your teammates to achieve the same and even greater successes in the future. A big congratulations also to the successful coach Nikos Iliadis and the federation,” he added.
