Saint Porphyrius Greek Orthodox Church in Gaza has established a medical clinic within its accommodation centre to provide essential healthcare services to those sheltering at the parish and others in need.
The initiative, led by Bishop Alexius and parish priest Father Silas Habib, aims to offer medical and therapeutic care during the ongoing crisis.
Supported by the Orthodox Church in the Holy Land and the Shepherd’s Association in Bethlehem, the clinic is staffed with medical professionals and administrative personnel. The parish has also maintained a pharmacy on-site since the start of the conflict, bolstered by donations from various organisations, including the International Orthodox Charity Society and the Pontifical Mission in Jerusalem.
This effort comes after an airstrike in October caused a roof collapse near the church, tragically killing several people who were seeking refuge.
