A 28-year-old man was fatally stabbed at the intersection of Chania and Patision streets in Kypseli on Monday night, with the perpetrators, two brothers aged 17 and 19, confessing to the crime.
The victim, of Albanian origin, was found by police with a knife wound to his neck, bleeding in the street. He was rushed to the hospital but later died from his injuries.
An hour after the incident, the two brothers, also of Albanian origin, turned themselves in at the Kypseli Police Station. The younger brother, aged 17, admitted to stabbing their cousin, while his 19-year-old brother acted as an accomplice. The brothers claimed the victim had been abusing them, leading to the deadly confrontation.
An eyewitness described the chaotic scene, recounting how the victim collapsed in the street after the stabbing, seemingly unaware of the severity of his injury. Emergency responders arrived within minutes, but the man’s condition rapidly deteriorated. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
