The leaders of Greece and India discussed deepening bilateral relations on the basis of the strategic partnership, which they adopted in their Joint Declaration in August 2023.

On Friday, Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.

During the communication, the two leaders discussed the prospects of deepening bilateral relations on the basis of the strategic partnership they adopted in their Joint Declaration during Modi's official visit to Athens in August 2023, as well as further strengthening cooperation, especially in the field of investment.

Mitsotakis informed the Prime Minister of India about Greece's intention to open two more consulates in India soon - Mumbai and Bangalore.

Cooperation between the two countries was also discussed in the context of Greece's term as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council 2025-2026.
