Renowned Greek lyricist Nikos Vrettos, known for crafting major hits, has passed away.

His death was shared on social media by his friend and former SYRIZA MP, Sakis Papadopoulos, who wrote, "Unbearable grief: a beloved friend, Nikos Vrettos, the inspiring lyricist, poet, intellectual, has 'passed away'… Good journey to eternity, Nikos."

Originally hailing from Naxos, Vrettos spent many years in Athens and later resided in Trikala, his wife Sasa Psalla's hometown. He created many popular songs and collaborated with iconic artists like Marinella, Dimitris Mitropanos, and Tolis Voskopoulos.
