A 69-year-old man lost his life after falling onto the train tracks at the Aghios Eleftherios metro station on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred on the line heading toward Piraeus, the Fire Department reported.

The circumstances leading to the man’s fall remain unclear. Emergency services responded swiftly, with six firefighters and two fire trucks dispatched to the scene. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead upon recovery.
