Greece has strengthened its defence ties with Egypt and Cyprus through new military agreements signed on February 4 at the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (HNDGS) in Athens.

The agreements include the 2025 Program for Military Cooperation between Greece and Egypt and the Joint Action Plan of Greece, Cyprus, and Egypt, reinforcing collaboration between the three nations in defence and security. These agreements build upon those signed in 2024 and focus on key areas such as:

  • Operational and joint special forces training
  • Air missions and electronic warfare exercises
  • Cooperation in military aviation, medicine, and history
  • Training on armament simulators
  • Participation in programs at Greece’s Multinational Peace Support Operations Training Center (MPSOTC)

According to the HNDGS, these agreements aim to enhance the operational capabilities of the armed forces while fostering regional stability and security in the Eastern Mediterranean.
