Greek Diaspora Worldwide to Join Protests Marking Two Years Since Tempe Rail Tragedy

Greek diaspora associations across Europe, Australia, and the United States are set to join a nationwide protest in Greece this Friday, marking the two-year anniversary of the Tempe rail tragedy.

In Berlin, Greek demonstrators will gather outside the embassy at 6 p.m. local time, condemning the government's handling of the disaster and calling for accountability. "The truth cannot be covered up," the organizers stated.

A parallel rally will be held at the Greek Embassy in Copenhagen, also at 6 p.m., where organizers referred to the Tempe tragedy as "a crime still seeking justice."

At a protest outside the embassy in Stockholm, Greeks promised to "become the voice of the dead." According to Greece's state broadcaster ERT, additional gatherings are planned in Ankara, Barcelona, Brussels, Budapest, Bucharest, Dublin, Luxembourg, Madrid, Paris, Rome, and Sofia.

In North America, Greek associations will take to the streets in New York, Boston, Chicago, and Montreal, demonstrating solidarity with the protests in Greece.
