Greece's Major Trade Union Quits X Over Policy Changes and Toxicity

Greece's General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE) has announced its decision to quit X (formerly Twitter) due to the platform's alleged policy changes after being acquired by Elon Musk. The union cited concerns over the rise of fake news, far-right conspiracy theories, and increased toxicity on the platform, stating it would seek alternative ways to communicate its views to the public.

One of Greece's largest trade unions has announced its decision to leave X, formerly known as Twitter. The union cited concerns over alleged policy changes following its acquisition by Elon Musk, who is often associated with supporting far-right movements.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE) expressed that the platform's new policies have led to a troubling rise in the spread of fake news, far-right conspiracy theories, and racist content, which has intensified the toxicity of online discussions.

GSEE stated that it can no longer maintain a presence on a platform marked by such toxicity and will explore alternative methods of communicating its views to the public.
