A mild earthquake jolted parts of Corinthia and Achaia just after midnight on Monday, March 31, 2025, at approximately 00:05 local time.

Residents in the affected areas felt the tremor, though no immediate reports of damage or injuries have surfaced.

Athens Observatory Assessment
According to the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens, the quake registered a magnitude of 3.3 on the Richter scale. Its epicentre was pinpointed 7 kilometres southwest of Goura, a small town in Corinthia, placing it firmly within the Peloponnese region.

Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre Findings
The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) corroborated the magnitude at 3.3 Richter, but identified the epicentre slightly differently, locating it 32 kilometres southeast of Kalavryta, a historic town in Achaia. This minor discrepancy in positioning is not uncommon due to varying seismic data interpretations.

While the earthquake was relatively weak, it serves as a reminder of Greece’s position along active fault lines. Authorities have not yet issued any alerts, but locals are advised to remain vigilant as aftershocks could follow. Further updates will be provided as seismologists continue to monitor the region.
