Greek Police Hunt for Two Escaped Suspects in Agrinio ATM Heist

Authorities in Agrinio are conducting a large-scale manhunt for two individuals, aged 18 and 20, who escaped from the holding cells of the Acarnania Police Directorate.

The fugitives are among five suspects accused of attempting to break into an ATM in the Agrinio area on April 12, during which they allegedly stole components and parts of the machine. The stolen items were later recovered near the suspects’ residences and confiscated by police.

Police operations are underway across Agrinio and surrounding areas to locate and apprehend the escapees. An investigation into the circumstances of their escape from the detention facility is also ongoing, with authorities working to determine how the breach occurred.

The incident has raised concerns about security protocols at the Acarnania Police Directorate, and officials are urging the public to report any information that could assist in the capture of the two suspects. Further details regarding the escape and the ongoing search are expected as the investigation progresses.
