Anna Ntountounaki broke the Greek national record in the 50m butterfly with a time of 25.63 seconds during the third and final day of the “FAROS-ELENA SAIRI” international swimming meet in Alexandroupoli.
Ntountounaki surpassed her previous national record of 25.65, set at the 2021 European Championships in Budapest, and was named the top female athlete of the meet. The men’s title went to Apostolos Christou.
The Olympic silver medalist also excelled in the 100m backstroke, posting an impressive 53.39, securing his qualification for the World Championships in Singapore this July.
In the 200m breaststroke, Marios Zafeiropoulos won with a strong time of 2:13.80, while Evangelos-Efraim Ntoumas triumphed in the 50m breaststroke with 28.29.
The next event is the “Acropolis Swim Open 2025,” Greece’s premier swimming meet, scheduled for May 2-4 at the OAKA Olympic Swimming Center.
