Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary, with the Hollywood actor sharing a heartfelt Instagram post to mark the occasion.
The beloved couple, married since 1988, have two children together. Hanks posted a photo of himself - possibly taken in Greece - himself and his wife on a boat, likely in the Mediterranean, with a stunning rock formation and cave in the background. Both are wearing swimsuits and smiling at the camera.
The 68-year-old star, who has 9.3 million Instagram followers, captioned the post: “37 years married. Today! I love you, Mrs. – With love, Mr. T. Hanks.”
The 68-year-old actress and singer also shared a tribute on Instagram to “her love,” featuring a photo of the couple in a vast meadow, dressed in hats and warm jackets.

Hanks was still married to his first wife, Samantha Lewes, when he met Wilson, who appeared as a guest star in an episode of the ABC comedy series Bosom Buddies in 1981.
The Oscar-winning actor legally separated from Lewes in 1985, with their seven-year marriage ending in divorce two years later. Rita Wilson became a stepmother to Hanks’ two children with Lewes, Colin and E.A., before the couple welcomed their two sons, Chet and Truman.
E.A. wrote about her turbulent childhood with her mother, who struggled with mental illness and passed away in 2002 at age 49 from bone cancer, in her autobiographical book.
The couple recently celebrated another milestone: Rita Wilson’s 10th year cancer-free. Wilson praised her “loving and supportive husband” during her diagnosis. Her Instagram post on March 31, 2025, read: “10 years. And I am so deeply grateful.”
Wilson was 58 when diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and underwent a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. She had previously disclosed living with LCIS (lobular carcinoma in situ), which she monitored closely with annual mammograms and breast MRIs.
