Under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with Enterprise Greece, the Greece-UAE investment workshop was held, with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, responsible for Economic Diplomacy and Extroversion, Tasos Hadjivassiliou.
Senior executives of state and private companies from the UAE, 35 leading Greek companies, and representatives of ministries and government agencies attended the work. The Emirati delegation was led by the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, while Mr. Hadjivassiliou represented the Greek Government.
The Deputy Minister, in his greetings, after conveying the greetings of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, highlighted the continuous progress made in bilateral economic relations, emphasizing that the workshop is taking place following the Prime Minister's recent visit to Abu Dhabi.
He noted that the United Arab Emirates is one of our strongest partners in the Arab world.
Furthermore, he welcomed the coverage of the initial investment target of 4 billion euros, emphasizing that the Greek economy continues to offer significant investment opportunities.
Finally, Mr. Hadjivassiliou noted during his statement that Greece's geostrategic position makes it a key gateway for the India-Middle East-Europe economic (IMEC) corridor. He stressed that by collaborating with the United Arab Emirates, we can strengthen Greece's connections in ports, railways, and logistics, enhancing connectivity and the flow of trade.
