A devastating accident occurred in Tigkaki, Kos, on Friday afternoon when a jeep crashed into a bakery, killing a 68-year-old British tourist and leaving her 69-year-old husband in critical condition.
The couple was enjoying coffee at an outdoor table when the vehicle struck them.

Both were rushed to the island’s hospital, but the woman succumbed to her injuries hours later. Her husband remains intubated in the ICU as of Saturday evening.
Local reports from kosnews24.gr state that the 50-year-old driver, an Albanian hotel worker, lost control while attempting to park the jeep, which belonged to another resident. Allegedly mistaking the gas pedal for the brake, he plowed into the bakery at high speed. The driver, who lacked a valid license, was arrested and faces charges of manslaughter by negligence and causing bodily harm under Penal Code Article 302 and Highway Traffic Code Article 94.
The Kos Traffic Police continue to investigate the tragic incident.
