Acclaimed actors Vanessa Kirby and Sebastian Stan are set to headline Ruins, an upcoming thriller set in Athens.

The film, based on Australian author Amy Taylor's second novel, centres around couple Emma and Julian who travel to Greece to house-sit in a search for identity and reconnection as their relationship faces uncertainty. Their plans are upended when they meet Lena, a mysterious local woman who draws them into a provocative and risky dynamic. As tensions rise, the trio becomes locked in a dangerous power struggle with unforeseen and explosive consequences.

The film is described by The Dial Press as a "sexy Mediterranean thriller", "delivers the drama of a modern Greek tragedy while exposing the tensions between privilege and power, desire and intimacy."

This project marks a notable collaboration between Kirby and Stan, who previously shared the screen in the 2012 historical miniseries Labyrinth. In that series, Kirby portrayed Alice Tanner, while Stan played Will Franklyn, as the characters navigated a complex narrative intertwining modern and medieval France.
