On Sunday, the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria (GOCMV) held elections for its new Board of Directors, with 314 of approximately 1,500 eligible members casting their votes.
All 19 candidates from the Papastergiadis ticket were elected, while the two independent candidates received a combined total of only a few dozen votes. Of the 314 ballots cast, 15 were deemed invalid.
Nick Dallas led with 299 votes, followed by Vicki Kyritsis with 298. The newly elected board will convene soon to formalise its structure.
