A total of 50 migrants from third countries were deported from Greece on Tuesday, July 15, as part of a coordinated repatriation operation organized by the Hellenic Police with the support of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX).
The individuals—40 from Pakistan and 10 from Georgia—had previously applied for asylum in Greece, but their requests were definitively rejected following legal procedures. The deportation took place via a scheduled return flight.
In an official statement, Greece’s Ministry of Migration and Asylum reiterated the country's position on migration policy: “Greece continues to implement a strict but fair migration policy, granting asylum only to those who are truly entitled to international protection,” the ministry said. “For all others, the only options are repatriation or detention.”
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by Greek authorities to manage migration flows and enforce asylum regulations in line with European Union standards.
