Riot Police Clash with Protesters on Rhodes During Israeli Cruise Ship Visit

Riot police clashed with protesters on the Greek island of Rhodes Monday during a demonstration against the Gaza war, coinciding with the docking of an Israeli cruise ship, the Crown Iris, carrying over 600 tourists, local media reported.

Footage showed a small group of demonstrators chanting “Freedom for Palestine” near the port, with riot police pushing them back, leading to minor scuffles. The cruise ship passengers disembarked without incident, according to Greek media.

Anti-war activists had organized the protest during the ship’s scheduled stop, though local businesses opposed the demonstration.

Last week, the Crown Iris departed Syros early without passengers disembarking after over 150 protesters displayed Palestinian flags and called for an end to the Gaza war. No violence was reported in Syros.
