Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, accompanied by his wife, Mareva Grabowski-Mitsotakis, attended a formal dinner hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump in New York. The event took place on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The presence of the Mitsotakis couple at the dinner is part of the Greek delegation’s program of multilateral engagements during the UN General Assembly proceedings. This diplomatic gathering provided an opportunity for high-level discussions and networking among global leaders.
It is worth noting that Mr. Mitsotakis and Mr. Trump have a prior acquaintance from the latter’s previous term as U.S. President, which overlapped with Mr. Mitsotakis’ first year as Prime Minister. The two leaders previously met at the White House in early 2020. Discussions regarding a potential new meeting at the White House in the coming months are under consideration, though no details have been finalized.
