In his weekly social media update, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis reflected on his New York meetings, highlighting Greece’s recognition as a stabilizing force in Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean. He emphasized Greece’s role as an attractive investment hub and a geopolitical and energy bridge connecting the region to Europe, underscoring its status as a trusted partner.
Mitsotakis stressed that “Greece’s voice resonates strongly” globally, noting the country’s enhanced defense capabilities. In his United Nations address, he called for Türkiye to lift its casus belli, rejected border changes in Ukraine, and urged an end to the Gaza conflict with the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Addressing Panos Routsis’ hunger strike, Mitsotakis expressed empathy for those suffering while respecting the independent judiciary’s decisions. He emphasized that judicial matters, including cases tied to national tragedies, must remain solely with the courts to avoid delays that could lead to statutes of limitations, which he called “the ultimate disrespect for victims’ memory.”
The Prime Minister also reviewed recent government initiatives in education, healthcare, and public safety, reinforcing Greece’s commitment to progress.
