16-Year-Old Dies Outside Gazi Club

A night out in Gazi ended in tragedy for a 16-year-old schoolgirl, who collapsed and died outside a club early Sunday morning. She reportedly felt dizzy, stepped outside for fresh air, and lost consciousness on the sidewalk.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and performed CPR before transporting her to Evangelismos Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Authorities say she had consumed a small amount of alcohol, but toxicology tests are pending.

Her grandfather told newsit.gr: “We lost our little girl, our angel. The hospital said cardiac arrest, but we are waiting for toxicology results. Her friends said she hadn’t drunk much.”

Witnesses said the teenager had called her mother around 11 p.m. to say she would be home later. She collapsed while stepping outside briefly to cut a birthday cake with friends.

Authorities have seized drinks from the club and a legal investigation is underway. POEDHN President Michalis Giannakos confirmed she was found unconscious outside the club and transported without a pulse. Officials are investigating whether substances beyond alcohol were involved.

Three other minors were reportedly hospitalized that same night from the same area.
