Free Admission to Museums and Archaeological Sites on Sunday, November 2

Winter season of free cultural Sundays returns across Greece

This Sunday, November 2, 2025, entry to all archaeological sites, museums, and monuments managed by the Greek Ministry of Culture will be free for everyone, marking the return of Greece’s popular free admission Sundays for the winter season.

From November 1 to March 31 each year, admission to state-run cultural sites is free on the first Sunday of every month, allowing locals and visitors alike to explore Greece’s rich heritage without a ticket.

Additional Free Admission Days

In addition to the monthly free Sundays, visitors can enjoy complimentary access to all state-managed archaeological sites, museums, and monuments on the following dates:

  • The first and third Sunday of each month (November–March)
  • March 6Melina Mercouri Memorial Day
  • April 18International Day for Monuments and Sites
  • May 18International Museum Day
  • Last weekend of SeptemberEuropean Heritage Days
  • October 28National Holiday (Oxi Day)

Acropolis Museum

The Acropolis Museum is not included in the Ministry’s general free admission scheme, as it operates under a separate legal framework. However, it offers its own free entry days, which include:

  • March 6 (Melina Mercouri Memorial Day)
  • March 25 (Greek Independence Day)
  • May 18 (International Museum Day)
  • October 28 (Ohi Day)
  • Limited hours during the European Heritage Days (last weekend of September)
