Mazomenos’ Latest Film ENDLESS LAND Debuts in Greece

The latest feature film by acclaimed Greek director Vassilis Mazomenos, Endless Land, will have its Greek premiere at the 66th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, organizers announced.

The film will screen on Friday, November 7 at 19:00 at the John Cassavetes Theatre (Warehouse 1, Port of Thessaloniki) and on Saturday, November 8 at 14:00 at the Frida Liappa Theatre (Warehouse D, Port of Thessaloniki).

Set in a remote village in Epirus near the Greek-Albanian border, Endless Land tells a multi-generational story of loss, migration, and memory, following the life of Lazarus, a man whose fate reflects the eternal cycle of life and death. Through Mazomenos’ signature poetic style, the film explores human endurance and belonging, highlighting the invisible threads connecting generations and landscapes.

The film was written and directed by Mazomenos and produced by Yannis Kostavaras and Mazomenos under Blackwrap Productions and Horme Pictures, with support from EKKOMED, ERT, the Region of Epirus, and the Epirus Film Office. Cinematography was by Stelios Pissas, editing by Yannis Kostavaras, and music by Michalis Nivolianitis (DNA).

Endless Land continues Mazomenos’ exploration of poetic cinema, following his acclaimed works Purgatory, Exile, and Lines. The film represents a new chapter in contemporary Greek poetic cinema and reaffirms Mazomenos as one of its most distinctive voices.
