Mina Arnaouti to Appeal to European Court Over Pantelidis Ruling

Athens, 10 December 2025 – Mina Arnaouti has announced she will take her fight for compensation from the fatal 2016 Pantelis Pantelidis car crash all the way to Greece’s Supreme Court (Areios Pagos) and the European Court of Human Rights, calling the Athens Court of Appeal’s decision “grossly unfair”.

In an emotional interview on MEGA TV, Arnaouti revealed she still receives violent threats nearly ten years after the accident and condemned the ruling that awarded her €39,000 after 17 surgeries and 5.5 months in hospital, while co-passenger Froso Kyriakou received €9,000 after just five days.

The court assigned both women 50% contributory liability for travelling with an intoxicated driver and not wearing seatbelts.

Arnaouti stated: “I’m not asking for money to get rich – I’m asking for my health. For every euro awarded, I already owe hospitals. This ruling protects the insurance company, not victims.”

She also disclosed that on the night of the crash, Pantelidis had lost €15,000–€20,000 in a private poker game but “was perfectly fine” when they left.
