National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Breaks into Global Top 200 Universities for 2025

Athens, Greece – December 13, 2025 – The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) has become the only Greek university to rank among the world’s top 200 higher education institutions in 2025, securing 191st place in the prestigious Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities (NTU Rankings), also known as the Taiwan Rankings.

Published annually by National Taiwan University, the NTU Rankings evaluate universities exclusively on research performance, scientific impact, citation metrics, and long- and short-term research productivity. Unlike composite rankings, NTU focuses purely on published scholarly output and the global influence of research, making it one of the seven most widely recognized and objective global university rankings.
