Man Accused of Raping 20-Year-Old Colleague in Nightclub Toilets

A 32-year-old man is accused of raping a young woman with whom he worked at the same business in Kos and will stand trial 6.5 years after the alleged incident, on January 12, 2026, before the Mixed Jury Court of Rhodes.

The alleged rape occurred in the summer of 2019 and the case was referred to trial by a ruling of the Kos Council of Misdemeanours Court. More specifically, according to the case file, the then 20-year-old woman was working at a hotel in Kos. In the early hours of June 22, 2019, at around 1:00 a.m., she went with three colleagues from work to a venue of entertainment.

Among her colleagues was the then 26-year-old accused. At some point, the woman went to the restroom, and as she came out, she found the 26-year-old outside. He allegedly pushed her back inside, began kissing her and then, against her will, according to her complaint, forced her into sexual intercourse and other acts.

Afterwards, as reported, the 26-year-old returned to his group and continued his night out. The woman went home in a state of shock, as she stated, and the following day spoke to a relative and reported the incident to the police, while she filed an official complaint on October 3, 2019.

During his testimony before the investigating magistrate in Kos in June 2024, the now 32-year-old denied the charge and claimed that he had only kissed the 26-year-old woman.
