Seven Violations of Greek Airspace by Turkish Warplanes

The Turkish Air Force carried out seven violations of Greek airspace and three violations of air traffic regulations within the Athens Flight Information Region (FIR) on Monday.

According to an announcement by the General Staff of the Hellenic Air Force, one violation was committed by a Turkish F-16 fighter jet, while the remaining six were carried out by an ATR-72 naval cooperation aircraft.

In total, a pair of Turkish F-16s and the ATR-72 operated over the northern and northeastern Aegean Sea. The ATR-72 also committed two violations of air traffic rules.

The Joint Chiefs of Defence stated that the Turkish aircraft were identified and intercepted in accordance with international regulations and standard operating procedures.
