Greek police are searching for three individuals in connection with the death of a 31-year-old man who succumbed to his injuries after being brutally beaten in the early hours of Sunday at a nightlife venue in central Patras.
According to police sources, authorities have already identified the three suspects and operations are underway to locate and arrest them.
As part of the investigation, two owners of the entertainment venue have been arrested after failing to provide CCTV footage from the premises. The owners reportedly claimed that no security recordings existed, a claim now under police scrutiny.
Officers from the Patras Security Department have taken statements from employees of the venue as well as from members of the victim’s group who were present at the time of the incident. Investigators are also awaiting the results of the forensic examination, which is expected to clarify the exact causes of death.
Police have increased security measures in the city following an attack by unknown individuals on another food and beverage business owned by one of the nightclub proprietors in a different area of Patras.
Authorities are also examining two emergency phone calls made to the police operations center. The first call was placed at 4:38 a.m., reporting a violent incident at a specific venue where a man had been beaten and injured.
Minutes later, a second call to the emergency number 100 reported a seriously injured man on Panachaikou Street, some distance from the entertainment venue. A patrol car was dispatched to the location but did not find any injured person at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing as police work to reconstruct the sequence of events that led to the fatal assault.
