Konstantinos Tzolakis Earns MVP Honours After Leverkusen Win

Olympiacos secured a crucial 2–0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in the seventh matchday of the Champions League League Phase, with Konstantinos Tzolakis earning the Man of the Match award for his outstanding performance.

Goals from Costinha and Mehdi Taremi gave the Piraeus side a strong advantage in the race for qualification. Despite the decisive contributions from the attacking players, Tzolakis emerged as the key figure of the match with a commanding display between the posts.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper produced six crucial saves, including four from inside the Olympiacos penalty area, and kept a clean sheet under sustained pressure from the German side.

According to Opta/Stats Perform, Leverkusen created chances that statistically should have resulted in nearly two goals. Tzolakis, however, denied every attempt, preserved Olympiacos’ clean sheet, and deservedly claimed the MVP award for his match-winning performance.
