A 17-year-old girl reported a brutal assault by four classmates in Thessaloniki, alleging that two girls beat her while two others filmed the attack. The incident left the teenager seriously injured and required hospital treatment, prompting her parents to file a criminal complaint.
According to the complaint, the attack occurred on Monday, January 26, shortly after 2:00 p.m., outside the EPAL school she attends on Katsimidi Street. The victim told police that one of the girls slapped her, after which she attempted to flee. The group allegedly stopped her at the intersection of Katsimidi and Karamanli streets, where two of the girls restrained and violently assaulted her.
The attackers reportedly punched her in the head and back and pulled her hair, while the other two girls recorded the incident on their mobile phones.
Employees at a nearby pharmacy witnessed the assault and intervened, calling an EKAV ambulance, the police, and the girl’s parents. Medical staff transferred the 17-year-old to Papanikolaou Hospital, where doctors diagnosed her with head injuries and a displaced vertebra. Physicians instructed her to wear a cervical collar for two days, according to public broadcaster ERT.
Authorities also ordered a forensic medical examination as part of the investigation. Police are examining the circumstances of the attack and the role of each minor involved.
