Hundreds of PAOK supporters gathered on Thursday evening at Toumba Stadium in Thessaloniki to bid a final farewell to the seven fans who lost their lives in a traffic accident in Romania earlier this week.
Chanting “Brothers, you live on, you guide us” and lighting flares in an organized procession along Kleanthous Street in the Toumba district, fans paid tribute as the hearses carrying the victims arrived near the stadium at around 7:30 p.m.
The bodies reached Thessaloniki after landing at Macedonia Airport shortly after 6:00 p.m. Supporters accompanied the procession from the airport to the stadium on motorcycles. Applause and visible emotion marked the moment the hearses passed by Toumba Stadium before continuing on to reunite the victims with their families.
PAOK fans began gathering at the site earlier in the afternoon, with many assembling inside the stadium at Gate 4 to honor the deceased supporters.
Funerals for the seven victims will take place on Friday and Saturday in Thessaloniki, Pieria, and Imathia, according to official announcements.
