Members of the Eordaia Hunting Club rescued a young motorcyclist who was swept into a river on Saturday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 16:30 in the municipal district of Drosero. The motorcyclist, identified by initials P.D., was riding an off-road bike when he attempted to cross the river and was caught by the strong current.
Club members nearby immediately noticed the situation and rushed to assist. Coordinated efforts successfully freed the motorcyclist, who remained unharmed.
With the help of two additional bystanders called to the scene, the team also retrieved the motorcycle from the riverbed.

Anestis Pantazis, president of the Eordaia Hunting Club, told e-ptolemeos.gr that the members heard a commotion and realised someone was trapped in the river’s flow. “Without hesitation, they moved to the spot and freed the rider before the situation became more dangerous,” he said.
The swift response of the hunters prevented a potentially fatal outcome and highlighted the value of local vigilance and preparedness in emergencies.
