Rethymno Mourns Sudden Death of Beloved Young Teacher

Rethymno authorities and the local community expressed shock after a 27-year-old substitute teacher was found dead at his home.

The young teacher, known to friends and colleagues as Thodoris, came from Tyrnavos and had been working in Rethymno for the past year. Concern arose when he failed to appear at school one morning, prompting colleagues to alert his family, who began searching for him.

His body was discovered a few hours later at his residence. Early indications suggest no criminal involvement, pointing to a sudden natural death. Sources said he did not smoke, drink, or have known health issues, and those who knew him described him as cheerful and well-liked.

A forensic examination is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon and is expected to clarify the cause of death. The Rethymno educational community and the young teacher’s family remain in mourning.
