Overturned Tractor Crushes Farmer Near Ancient Olympia

A 54-year-old farmer died in Ilia after his tractor overturned and crushed him while he carried out agricultural work in a field near Neraida, in the municipality of Ancient Olympia.

Local reports said the accident happened under unclear circumstances when the vehicle tipped over, trapping the man underneath. Villagers rushed to the scene, freed him, and immediately alerted the Fire Service and emergency medical teams.

A relative who was present at the incident also contacted authorities, according to the same sources. Residents then transported the man on the back of a farm vehicle to meet an ambulance, trying to save time as his condition appeared critical.

Doctors at Pyrgos Hospital attempted to resuscitate him, but he later died from his injuries. The death plunged the local community into mourning.
