US President Donald Trump announced that countries participating in the Gaza Peace Council have committed over $5 billion to end the conflict and rebuild the region. He shared the news via Truth Social, expressing satisfaction with the outcomes of the council’s first conference.

Trump said a follow-up meeting will take place on 19 February at the Donald Trump Institute for Peace in Washington. During the session, member states will present official plans for implementing the first phase of the reconstruction programme. The president emphasised that Hamas must fully and immediately demilitarise to ensure stability and peace in Gaza.
In his statement, Trump highlighted previous achievements, noting that in October he released a comprehensive plan to end the Gaza conflict, which the UN Security Council unanimously adopted. He added that humanitarian assistance was delivered at record speed and all hostages—living or deceased—were released. Last month, founding members met with him in Davos, Switzerland, to launch the council officially and outline a bold vision for Gaza’s civilians.
Trump confirmed that the 19 February meeting will detail the allocation of more than $5 billion for humanitarian initiatives and reconstruction projects. International Stabilisation Forces and local police will receive additional support to protect residents. He described the Peace Council as “the most important international body in history” and said it is an honour to serve as its president.
