Two workers died after suffering electrocution while carrying out renovation works in an apartment in Vari on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.), the incident occurred at around midday when a 39-year-old and a 21-year-old worked on a renovation project inside a fourth-floor apartment building on Afrodite Street. Under conditions that remain unclear, electricity struck both men, causing fatal injuries.
Authorities transported the two workers to the Asklipieio Hospital in Voula, where doctors confirmed their deaths.
Police received formal notification of the incident shortly after 18:30, when the father of one of the victims went to the Vari–Vouliagmeni Police Station carrying the hospital’s death report for his son.
EL.AS. has launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances and causes of the fatal accident.
