Actor Stefanos Michael Ready to Defend Cyprus

Cypriot actor Stefanos Michael declared he is ready to defend Cyprus as a reservist commando amid escalating regional tensions. Speaking to Live News, Michael said, “We are prepared for Cyprus, for Hellenism in Cyprus. We do whatever is necessary. We attend military exercises, refresh our training, and keep our equipment ready.”

Michael described the current climate on the island as tense and uncertain, recalling the last time Cyprus experienced comparable fear in 1974. He noted that drone strikes targeted British bases near Limassol, Akrotiri, and Dekeleia at midnight on Sunday, creating heightened anxiety for nearby residents. Despite this, daily life continues normally for most Cypriots.

He expressed concern that Turkey might try to exploit the situation but praised strong support from Greece, calling it “very moving” to feel the motherland at Cyprus’ side.

Meanwhile, Koulis Nikolaou, actor and producer of Land of Olives, told MEGA that Cypriots remain calm. He highlighted the reassurance provided by Greece and the Cypriot government, emphasising that Cyprus is not directly targeted and daily life continues, including ongoing filming for the TV series.
