The flow of refugees and migrants to Crete persists, with yet another arrival recorded in the early hours of Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

A small boat carrying 41 individuals landed on the island of Gavdos, a remote southern outpost of Greece, during the night of Tuesday, March 25. Port authorities located the group on Trypiti Beach, in the southern part of the island.

According to reports from ERT Chania, all the migrants identified are men. Of these, 19 are from Egypt, 15 from Bangladesh, and 7 from Sudan.

The group was initially received at Karave Port on Gavdos. Later today, likely in the afternoon, they are expected to be transferred by a scheduled ferry to Crete, arriving at the port of Sfakia. From there, they will be transported to a specially designated facility in the Municipality of Chania, located at the Agia Exhibition Center, where they will stay temporarily before continuing their journey to mainland Greece.

This latest arrival underscores the ongoing challenges faced by Greek authorities as migratory pressures continue along the country’s southern borders.
