NEW YORK—The Gyro Project, known for its modern take on authentic Greek street food, will open its first Manhattan location on April 7.
Situated at 2062 Broadway on the Upper West Side, the restaurant brings Greece’s finest flavors to New York City with fresh ingredients and a contemporary twist.
To celebrate, The Gyro Project will host a special event on Thursday, April 10, where the first 50 guests in line for dinner at 5 PM will receive a free t-shirt, exclusive swag, and a complimentary gyro. The signature gyro features a choice of beef and lamb, chicken, or pork belly, wrapped in pita and topped with crispy French fries, tomatoes, onions, and house-made sauces, including tzatziki, spicy feta, TGP house sauce, hot harissa, or honey mustard.

Founded by restaurateurs George Tenedios and Spiro Kokkosis, The Gyro Project launched its Upper West Side location by partnering with the team behind Kyma Restaurants in Hudson Yards and the Flatiron District.
“The Gyro Project is about making flavorful Mediterranean food accessible to those looking for a quick lunch or dinner with friends and family,” said co-owner George Tenedios. “With our expansion, we look forward to sharing Greece’s beloved culinary traditions with even more customers.”
Beyond its famous gyros, The Gyro Project menu includes Greek mezedes (appetizers), specialty fries, pita wraps and bowls, salads, entrée platters, feta-brined rotisserie chicken, and a selection of traditional Greek bakery items. The restaurant also offers a unique frozen yogurt program featuring creative flavors like deconstructed baklava.
The Upper West Side location marks The Gyro Project’s third expansion, following the recent opening at The Junction at Gateway Center in Newark, New Jersey. Two years ago, the first location debuted in Fort Lee, New Jersey. A fourth location is slated to open in Manhattan’s Kips Bay in early summer 2025.
