Greek PM Holds Talks with Netanyahu and Lebanese President

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis held separate telephone conversations with Lebanese President Michel Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

During the calls, Mitsotakis received updates on the latest developments in Lebanon. He acknowledged Israel’s right to self-defence but emphasised the need to prevent further escalation and avoid opening a new front through large-scale ground operations in southern Lebanon.

In the conversation with Netanyahu, the leaders also discussed Israel’s unprovoked attack on the Republic of Cyprus and highlighted Greece’s defensive support for Cyprus.
